PROJECT DETAILS
GOBA (Pty) Ltd was appointed as the Structural Engineers for a 38 000m2 distribution warehouse and 4 000m2 double storey office for Mr Price.
The Warehouse is approximately 300m long by 125m wide with an 8m clear height for racking. The warehouse comprises structural steel trusses supported on concrete columns with concrete tilt up walls to 5m. The surface bed is 200mm thick on a good quality stabilised G5, designed for point load due to racking up to 6m.
The structure is founded on spread footings with some soil improvement (+-1 - 1.5m stabilised pads) down to good founding material over part of the site.
