Overview
GOBA is irrevocably committed to continue assisting those who were previously disadvantaged. To this end, a multi-pronged advancement programme has been implemented, which includes (amongst others):
- Making a large portion of its budget available for development and education.
- Implementing special in-house training programmes to accelerate career advancement.
- Identifying, appointing and training employees to management levels at the earliest possible opportunity.
- Ensuring that employees from previously disadvantaged communities are given preference when employing new staff in order to achieve and maintain a representative staff complement.
- Awarding bursaries for University and Technical College studies annually to previously disadvantaged individuals.
