Overview
Fundamental to the company’s long-term vision during the apartheid years was the realisation that the Civil Engineering consulting industry in South Africa would ultimately require engineers from the excluded black community. The imperative of affording aspiring, talented, young black people such as Trueman Goba the opportunity of studying at ‘whites only’ universities, was evident to the Keeve Steyn Directors of the time. Some 34 years later, the importance of finding and nurturing talent from whatever source is evident. Trueman Goba duly graduated, and thus began a long and illustrious career that has culminated in his current position as Chairman of the Board of GOBA (Pty) Ltd.

GOBA currently has 52% BEE ownership. GOBA (Pty) Ltd, as a major African player in a transforming industry, is a Black Enterprise as defined in the SA Government's Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Strategy.
